Anthracite Headliner
Do you like your Anthracite Headliner?
Doesn't it make the inside of the X3 too dark? What interior color do you have? Looking at purchasing a new X3 with The M Sport package and it only comes with an Anathracite Headliner. The black color does match up nicely with the black dashboard, but I'm concerned that the inside of the car will look very dark. Love the Mojave leather, but that with the Anthracite Headliner may darken the interior too much. May need to go with the Sand Beige Leather interior instead. Oyster looks like it would get dirty quite easy. Thanks in advance for your comments! |

I think if you plan on having the sunroof it will be just fine. If not, I think it will look fine but may be a little dark inside.

Whether something looks too dark is subjective. I think the anthracite headliner simply disappears and you think more about the drive and what's going on outside the car rather than inside. It's sporty and not too dark, but that's just my opinion. I have oyster leather/fineline wave trim.

Hi Bmwlvr60
I have ordered the optional black headliner because i wanted a slightly darker interiour. I am still waiting for the car though. Delivery expected WK48! I like to "enclosed" feel the darker interiour will give. I have driven several different version of the X3. so I was able to see the differences. Maybe you could do the same? Thats' my thoughts. |

I have the Oyster interior and I think the Anthracite Headliner looks awesome. I don't think it makes the interior too dark, but I can always pull the shade back and let the light in through the huge sunroof. I considered going with the Sandy Beige interior but I didn't want the tan carpet. I love the oyster interior and I don't find it any more difficult to keep clean compared to the black leather in my other car, but then again I don't have kids either.

I have a black interior in the M-Sport and love the anthracite headliner. Had the beige headliner with black interior in my E90 and it was fine but I like the black better. Best part about the anthracite headliner is that you don't have to worry if someone has a greasy hand and happens to grab the A-piller to help themselver in or out... no visible stain like I got on my E90 one time.

I have the M Sport in Carbon Back, with black leather interior and brushed alu trim. I think that the black headlining really sets it off and makes it look very smart.

Another with black interior and anthracite header
Have black seats and anthracite header. Like the lack of transition from another color, don't find it too dark. If your exterior color was black and the entire interior was also black it might be too much.
