Rear Fog
I know this has been discussed here before but I just would like someone to confirm that in my 2012 X3 28i with convenience, cold weather, M sport, premium, premium sound, and tech has the light and wiring there.
Want to order this: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-F25-xDr...hes/ES2497350/ Thanks, |

if the place you linked to ecstuning.com can actually get you this part in the US, please let us know, looks like others are interested as well.

in my e90 328i i bought the euro light switch similar to the one in link..so for the f25 should be the same its just swapping the light switch with euro light switch to enable rear fogs.

Glad we will be able to get this! I have it on My GL & find it helpful in the heavy rain or morning fog.

I have it on my e90 right now. The X3 is my wife's car. The ECS switch is for xenon and auto windshield wipers if I'm not mistaken. There are several part numbers all for various options.

Just a little curious, what is the benefit of the rear fogs? I have never had them or even seen them. If they are worthwhile, this seems to be a cheap and easy modification.

They are very bright. In heavy rain / fog it makes your car significantly more visible from behind. It is much much better than being one of the goofs with your hazards on going 35 down the highway in rain.

Sweet. That's enough for me. I just ordered the attachment. They said it won't be available until February . I hope it's as easy to install as on that thread. I have zero automotive skill. What should I do with the old piece?

Pretty much, except when you apply the brakes, the existing brake lights light up as well as the third one.

In the e90, we have 2-stage brake lights. If the brake is hit very quickly and hard 2-stages are lit and the brakes are very bright. If you just brake normally, the first stage is only lit and they aren't as bright. The rear fog light is the first stage brakes lit all the time when activated. I'm not sure if the X3 is the same, but most likely it is.
