Renders: BMW X3 M Super SAV Imagined
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW X3 M Super SAV Imagined It's been speculated (discussions) that BMW will introduce a version of the F25 X3 which has been breathed upon by BMW M GmbH. The rumored timetable for the X3 M release is sometime in 2012, although no prototypes have yet been spotted. An X3 M would be an important car not just because it represents another M model, but because it would likely provide a preview of the next generation F80 / F82 M3's powerplant. The X3M would likely represent the introduction of a new turbocharged 6 cylinder motor which will also power the next generation M3 (but at a higher power output in the M3). This brings to mind the relationship between the S63 engine in the X5M and the modified S63Tu in the F10 M5 sedan. The X3 M has been rumored to be targeted to be approximately 1,200 pounds lighter than the X5 M and will of course feature unique M styling, with aggressive front bumper and rear diffuser, beefed up fenders, and signature quad exhausts. The interior will also feature the expected M stitching, trim, seats, and other bits. No X3M prototypes have yet been spotted, but here are some X3M renders in Liquid Blue, Monte Carlo Blue, and Titanium Silver for fun and speculation. * Click on images for higher-resolution version |

Nice renders. Would be good to see more flare around those rear wheels, which an X3 M would almost surely need. That would create a much more aggressive stance and accomodate a 285 or wider tire.

I think this is an excellent render. I just worry that BMW is going the way of Chevrolet a few years ago with SS versions of EVERYTHING.

If they can make a X3M for around $65K fully loaded it would be perfect, but I see the price getting over $70K like the M3 does now and that will make a lot of people look at a Porsche Cayanne S, then again there will be nothing else out there like it. Who else makes a 4,200 lb small SUV with 450 horsepower, 0-60 in around 4.2 seconds with fuel effeciency around 20 MPG combined? Even people who think there shouldn't be M SUV's have to respect those numbers! could weigh about the same as a M5! now we just need to see one in the flesh! there have already been photos of the Audi SQ5 so you know that is coming out soon and insiders say the X3M has been given the go ahead, but if it really is coming out in a year (2012 as a 2013 model) then why haven't there been any spy shots? unless BMW is being super secrative with it to hide the new M3/X3M engine? |

Wow. That render looks great. I have a feeling it'll look 90% like it except the wheels. I'm hoping for more aggressive looking wheels. I'll take one in AW.

everything perfect but wider arches wouldnt hurt and the front fender look pretty awkward having the crease coming from the doors and the grill so close(I think M division designers should put the grill at the end part of the crease like they did on the e92 m3). still, pretty cool render

Every prototype is tested behind closed doors first before venturing out for the general public.
Because the past few weeks the media have more or less been pre-occupied with the IAA, everything has become secondary. Now that the IAA has passed attention turns to the backlog of info such as spyshots of new models , and not just BMW begin to filter through again. Photographers should be busy around Munich just now. |

If thi M was out now i would be buying it...I am hoping it comes in a 6 speed MANUAL...If not i will move on to something else...My dillema atm is i need a 4wd car NOW.....My son is usuing my DD CRV and the 135i will not get me out of my 800 ft driveway so i can get to work in snow..Retail manager so i have to be there.... I may just buy a second hand AWD car to get by till the M comes out...either `1XM oe 3XM either would do in a manual...Currently pricing out S4, 335iX.....possibly VW R if it shows up soon...Also test drove the Evo and the STI again as i have done many times....They just do not feel or have the build of the BMW.and do not feel fast anymore after the 135i torque...stock and especially with the JB4..but even stock for stock the 135i feels better than the STI or Evo......so what to do what to do...
