Pricing Question
Hey guys,
I come from the e90 section of the site.... I need some advice on a car that I was offered. I was offered an '11 xdrive 28- ZPP, ZAP, sat, xenon, for 39k (minus loyalty cash). Heres the kicker it has 6000 miles but never titled. The MSRP is 43875 and invoice is 40875. So its really only 2875 off invoice... (with loyalty cash) It seems like a meh deal especially when you factor in the residual deductions it should be slightly lower no? Anyways I will be going tomorrow to test drive the vehicle and make an offer. I was wondering where you guys thought I should start or if I should walk away. Thanks!

Agreed
Agreed. I would push for a way better deal. Run some numbers from your research and guesstimate what the opportunity cost would be for getting a car with 6000 miles on it...to offset that I would push for lower numbers.

Ya I can get a new one for around 1k more. I left there today telling them that in less words. Will call them tomorrow and tell them how I feel. I was thinking ~36 is a good offer? I cannot find many used 11 X3 28 to compare to and kbb/edmunds is not of much help...any ideas?

Depends on how much you want the car.
When i was looking for a Q5 around 18 months ago, used prices were nearly similar to new prices here in the UK. When i bought my ALPINA with 4k miles, nearly 4 years ago, i paid just 500 under the new price. Factor in the waiting time for a new one, and dealers know that they often get what they are asking. |
