Need Help ...
I'm looking into a X3 or a X5 I can't decide between the two. I've read reviews on both but still need help.
The reason why I'm looking for a bigger car is because of the wife ... of course!! Don't need to off road but just need space and the wife finds both the X3 and X5 really nice so in the end I guess its up to me. I have a two year old son and my wife and I find it easier to put him in and out of a SUV then a car. Costco shopping will also be easier with a larger car. I live in town on an island and don't really drive much on work days. I take the family out to the beach to BBQ and swim once in a while. I'll be ordering the car to my likings and the M-sport kit will be on the order for either car I decide on. I like the looks of the X5 front but love the new X3 rear. I also like the size of the X5 but I feel the X3 may be more practical for my wife and I. The X3 will have one more option (Navigation) that the X5 will not. I have the navigation option in my current car but don't really use it much (Hard to get lost on an island) so I guess I could go without it. I have driven both and feel the interior in the X5 is nicer in the back seat area and a little in the front. I don't ever sit in the back seat so don't really care but the front interior is kinda nice in the X5. Payment would be a difference of $100 per month. Both would still be cheaper then my current payment on my E90. I'll save $200 a month if I went with the X3 and $100 a month if I went with the X5. -For any of you that have both can you please give me a feedback on how each compares for daily driving. -For those that were also stuck between the two what made you go with the X3 or X5? Thank you for all your advice

We looked at both for almost the exact same reasons you are looking. We went with the X3 and are glad we did. I ran in to a local X5 owner and said they are getting like 16miles to the gallon! For the bit of space you gain, I think over all you are looking at a vehicle that is a lot worse on gas. The X3 will be just what we need for our soon to be 3 old and the shopping trips. Plus if we need more cargo, we can always put a cargo bin up top.
