High positive LTFT after N20 engine change
Hi all,
I have a X3, F25, 2012, 2.0i. I have recently replaced my old 2012 N20 engine by a 2016 N20 engine (including injectors and engine internals). After starting the engine and driving the car for a few miles, I received P0171 trouble code (engine too lean on bank1) and the fuel consumption is increasing resulting in a LTFT +24.2 % in moderate load/driving condition. The STFT is oscillating between -5% to 5%. St idke the STFT is around zero but the LTFT is *14 at idle. Please note that I had changed all 4 injector adjustment values before getting P0171 code. After getting P0171, I tried to reset adaptations using ISTA+ (except the adaptation of increment wheel). Then ISTA showed that adaptation was reset successfully. Then I drove my car for around 100 miles but the LTFT is as before + 24.2% and I get P0171 code randomly. Except that, the car runs fine. Can anyone help me more? Is there Any other thing that I should do more? Is it possible that adaptation reset was not done properly (for example because of my Old DME i-level)? Any help is highly appreciated Regards, Jahan |

Hi
Yes I found the problem. My old engine block had EU5 injectors and the new engine block had EU6 injectors. They have different fuel injection patterns that is driven by DME. I replaced my old injectors (which were fine) and the problem disappeared after few miles. |
