M PSAS+ NON-RUN FLATS installed

Hey there, I wanna report on my tire swap. I'm running 19" squared. My m40i has less than 200mi on it but I just couldn't bare the Bridgestone Daulers Runflats anymore. Mostly cause they're runflats. So I looked at it like an option upgrade and had them swapped out today for 19" Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ NRF. Boy, does it make a big difference. I mean these tires aren't even broken-in yet and on normal roads, they ride softer, maybe a subjective 25%. But the real difference is on shittier roads, the car rides over bumps. Soaks em up. Where it used to kinda jump em. When turning on a ruddy surface, it holds firm and feels solid where it used to skip a bit. When pushed, the handling is substantially better with the M PSAS+. It sits down. Steering feels really precise and surefooted... and lots more fun. A proper match with the m40i suspension imo. Just wanted to give my experience -- if any of you are thinking of swapping out your runflats, do it, you will not be disappointed. You'll just say "I should've done this sooner!" Thanks for reading.

PS: My next project: Parts are on order to make a BMW space saving spare rather than buy an aftermarket because it has a smaller footprint. I've measured the space under the trunk and with a little ingenuity and rigging I'll be able to keep it there without losing cargo space! But that's for another thread.

When you switched to Non-RFT, is there any adjustment to the on board computers? I mean, you just switched and all is OK with TPMS, etc? Keep us posted.

Two quick questions

1. Is there a difference in the road noise level with the new tires?

2. WTH are M PSAS+ tires - is this a brand?

No adjustments. TPMS goes with the wheel. They mount, balance, adjust tire pressure and reset it on the touchscreen.

That's a good question. I didn't notice any pronounced noice level. But I was paying attention to other attributes while putting them through the ringer. On that subject though, I hear the engine hum over all other noises. But I'll get back to you as they wear-in for a more accurate answer.

Here's the tire: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

I will say the car feels damn near perfect!

Most likely Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 3+

M = Michelin
PSAS+ = Pilot Sport A/S 3+

Great, that's what I thought, but wanted to check.

I don't have access to my M40i right now (in the shop for grille shutters). Anyway, I do seem to recall that the TPMS settings for this vehicle allow you to choose from All Season tires or Performance tires, and it affects the suggested inflation PSI for the tires depending on your selection.

Here's the relevant section from the owner's manual:
