That used to be the case with the 2017 X3's. On the 2018's the flux capacitor is next to the clavinvox about 4 inches down line from the eigenharp. And if you leave it out in the rain and the clavinvox gets wet (as they are known to do), then you're in for serious repair work AND its not cheap.

That's why those of us who live in rainy climates like the Pacific Northwest cover our cars with poly lined car covers.

Its really easy. Locate the dicktie - front engine compartment - passenger side - green cap. You can't miss it. Flip the cap up and add fluid.

BMW part number: 61-67-7-438-768. About $17.00 for 32 ounces. It doesn't take much, so don't over fill. It should last 3 -4 years with routine fills.

Hope this helps.

OP is either:

a) laughing maliciously with happiness upon the activity of this thread
b) crying in sadness from all of the answers.
c) a innocent child

If this poster was serious I have so many questions:

- Have you ever been outside?
- Have you ever seen the rain before?
- Have you ever seen a car before?
- Whats the rain like where your from, acid?
- How old are you?

but this is probably a troll...

The biggest hazard to paintwork in the UK is stones and other debris thrown up from the road so to protect car it should be garaged at all times and not driven on the road.

Many people think that when the car sits under the rain, that the rain water will wash the dirt and salt off the car. Not true. Actually, rain water can cause even more damage than it helps. ... The rain water eventually evaporates, leaving a thin layer of pollutants that can damage your car's finish.

I think he may be on to something!
