Trunk dimensions vs. prior generation
I measured my '07 & '11 X3's, here's the data, rounded to the lowest inch.
L X W X H E83: 37" X 37" X 33" F25: 36" X 43" X 31" Length (front to back) measured on centerline from the back bottom of the rear seats to the start of the plastic in front of the gate latch Width (side to side) smallest dimenstion between the wheel wells Height (up and down) smallest dimension normal to the floor So the F25 cleary gives you extra width, but loses length (adds it to the cabin rear leg room) and loses height (more downward sloping roof line). Depending on what your putting in there it's either better or worse, but the footprint overall is still bigger. 1369 in^2 for the E83 and 1548 in^2 for the F25. Volume of the biggest "box" ignoring what you lose from the sloping seat backs, is 26 ft^3 for the E83, and 28 ft^3 for the F25. According to Edmunds which uses a more standardize method for sure, the E83 is 30 ft^3 and the F25 is 28 ft^3 (all with the seats up), but my measurements show the F25 trunk is bigger by volume, not smaller...go figure.

Not yet. I'm going to post a very long two week review next week, and I'll post some pics in that post.
