from the look of these photos, I am thinking it is going to be more sporty. But this is all speculation. I hope it turns out to be advantageous over the competition.

good lord, the GLK is horrible. i'm more worried about the Audi Q5. i can't see much with these pictures, but i'm glad that it appears they are keeping the current size, and not making it larger, or throwing in a 3d row (unnecessary, go get an X5 if you do).

does anyone know if the N55 is approved for US consumption? will it come on the 5-series GT here in the US?
since it's built on the E90 platform, the N54 will fit, so i don't see why they won't put it in.

New X3 spyshots:
The second generation BMW X3 due in 2011 continues its testing sessions, this time around the Spartanburg Plant in South Carolina. Our friend Palbay managed to get closer than ever to the X3 test mule and snap some of the best photos we have seen so far. Seven years after BMW introduced their first premium compact Sports Activity Vehicle, the second generation X3 is aiming to regain its leader status in the premium compact class. The newly redesigned X3 will be aimed at customers looking for a dynamic SAV and United States remains the main market. The 2011 BMW X3 is built on the next generation 3 Series platform and measures 15.15 feet in length, two inches longer than the current model. It will have similar dimensions as the first generation BMW X5, featuring more rounded design lines and a sleeker look. The “kicked-up” window line that first saw the daylight in the X3 will be again evident and it will be seen as an X3 characteristic, a design element that will be associated with the model. It will also have will have a roof line slightly lower than the current mode, giving the car a sportier look. Inside, we expect to see a similar design as in the newly X1, a far more luxurious approach that will fix some of the complaints the X3 owners previously had. Along with high quality materials, the 2011 X3 will offer several options seen in higher end models: Night Vision System, Head-Up Display, Adaptive Headlights or seats with ventilation The motoring options are extensive, starting with the six cylinder petrol and diesel engines missing from the X1 line-up. Furthermore, four-cylinder turbos are expected to be available in some markets, along with a hybrid model that will come in the future. The future X3 is moving its production from the Magna factories in Graz, Austria, to the U.S soil at the Spartanburg plant, a move that will reduce some of the manufacturing costs. The new BMW X3 will be introduced in late 2010 with sales beginning in 2011. http://www.bmwblog.com/2009/12/05/la...s-2011-bmw-x3/ |

jo-e90, the new X3 will be based on the F30 platform, not the E46. It will be fine.
