Mine F.A.G. assembly had instructions inside the box (same as in ISTA).
Depends on the bolts you got: - original bolts were 1.5mm pitch as that was 80nm + 90deg; - new assembly had bolts with 1.25mm pitch, and that is 120nm + 90degs. |

Im thinking the NTN doesn't require that. It was almost impossible to turn it beyond 10 degrees, I felt I would have needed a 4 foot breaker bar to turn it an additional 90 degree.

A very timely thread. My 2016 X3 28d has become noticeably loud with a droning noise that changes with speed. Initially, I ascribed it to worn winter tires that often drone as the tread wears down. However in reading the above, it sounds (literally) like a worn rear wheel bearing. My car has over 70K miles that also seems to jive with the entries above. Also, it's great to know that *** and Timken are of equal quality.
I have two good local mechanics that could do the work, but my concern is the replacement parts they might use. Some of the stuff from popular parts dealers like NAPA is junk from Cardone. Hope to arrange something that would allow me to provide parts of a known quality. |
