Interested in an 18' X3 m40i, steering wheel question inside.
So I'm pondering the thought of trading in my FBO F30 335i for an 18' x3 m40i, but the first thing I noticed was the steering wheel looked like the base model x3 steering wheel. After scouring the web for a few minutes I read that in 2018 they didn't come with the m-sport steering wheel, and it was fixed in 2019. So my questions are as following.
1. Is that actually true? 2. All things alike, is that the only diff. between the MY18 and MY19 m40i variants? Thanks!

I have no issues with the steering wheel, not quite as thick as my 435, I would not pass up a 2018 if you see a good deal and has what you are looking for. CHEERS

It is true. I do not have the msport wheel in mine. If you are looking at an 18, look into the rear axle issue we all have reported. I had mine replaced at 32kmi and so far so good.

My 2018 X3 m40d was built on 17/09/18 (so might be MY19 spec?)
It has option 248 - steering wheel heating and option 710 M Leather steering wheel and looks like attached photo |

The 2018 M40i did not get the M Sport wheel in the US market. I believe it did in Europe (along with M40d).
I recall seeing a thread on this forum about it back when I had my 2018 M40i. It was confusing at the time because some press photos showed the M Sport wheel and others did not. |
