I don’t mod my vehicle like crazy and we’re currently still mostly covered in snow and ice. But I still kinda feel like buying something. I’ve only launched my x3 maybe twice and the last time I attempted it, I had clearly forgotten how to get into launch mode so it didn’t work anyways.
Dragy is $200 cdn and can be here tomorrow. Seems like a pretty simple tool that might be fun to play with. There’s not a new super version being rereleased soon or some other weird reason not to buy is there?
I didn’t see a ton of recent stuff when googling for competition.

I’ve only used it once but it is super easy to set up and the magnets stick to the metal speaker grill behind the idrive screen easily … no need for permanent sticky things !I don’t mod my vehicle like crazy and we’re currently still mostly covered in snow and ice. I have no idea how to select launch control …. Well, I have sort of an idea but didn’t the one time I used draggy and bogged down something chronic before it went like a stabbed rat …. I got 5.1 to 60 which is poor when you consider my car is Stage 1 …. But the bogging down was probably the best part of a second so maybe not too bad ….. and my first go ever

I bought one and use it twice. It now sits in the center armrest of my X3MC. I wouldn't buy it again.

I used it for like a month or two. Now it just sits in my console. I think it's really only useful to track different mods and gains and such. If you're always going to be stock then you're really just going to be measuring your best time after like 10 runs and then knowing what your 0-60 is until you change things up again.

I have one, bought it in 2020. Used it a bunch of times with my 19 Corvette Z06. For giggles I have used it once in my 16 Sierra 4x4 truck and once in the 19 Audi S4. I will use it more on the Audi once I tune the Audi to see how the tuning changes are working.

Scottatah wroteI vote dashcam, unless you’ve already got. And then once you figure out how to nicely wire the rear camera, let me know. It was meant to be a summer project last year, but never got around to it. It looks…finicky? But I still kinda feel like buying something.

A friend has a draggy. Used it only a handful of times as far as I am aware.

I think you can get 0-60 in the BMW Lap Timer App? It is free.

As a self proclaimed speed racer. Yes you should have a Dragy. It's fun to see all your personal performance #s.
Even if you keep you car fully stock. You can have your friends use it too. Lastly Dragy is the best because it is kind of standardized performance meter. You cannot go down a enormous hill and say you ran 10.00 seconds in a 1/4 mile. It will Invalidate your run. So the performance boards on Dragy are used world wide and it is very accurate.
Individual on board performance meters are not the same performance comparison from different car models or brands.
We have a Dragy thread here too. Post your #s when you get it. The world is your drag strip.

Since discovering virtual dyno, putting my purchase of dragy temporarily on hold.
Having too much fun on flat roads getting logs and playing with ethanol blends, playing with results against various OTS tunes.

I see no reason to Not buy one, if your interested in what it provides. It does what it does and does it well, simply put. Great for measuring stock to added mods and see what they provide in real life, not dyno numbers.

Reminds me of the old G-Tech Pro i bought back in the early 00's. the novelty wore off faster than the wildly inaccurate 0-60 times it reported. Wonder if i still have that kicking around somewhere...

JonF1 wroteI had one of those ! It fell off, didn't record .... was a total pain ... but just about all there was then. I remember it recorded my Rover 420GSi Turbo which was supposed to be 6.4 to 60 (well quick in the early 90's) at 6.1 and then after being remapped (well, chipped as it was then with soldering needed) it went to 5.4 or 5.5 ... so though dodgy was useful in telling me the remap worked - not that I needed to know as it was f*****g obvious everytime I planted the throttle.Reminds me of the old G-Tech Pro i bought back in the early 00's. the novelty wore off faster than the wildly inaccurate 0-60 times it reported. The car had the original Racelogic traction control fitted by Racelogic in Buckingham. Now that was an awesome bit of kit many Sierra Cosworths had fitted aftermarket. Cutting the spark when it detected wheelspin it was well employed on my 420 as without it the car just spun up being fwd.
I had great fun with that kind of stuff in my younger years ... now far calmer.
