Pure Inlet and GFB DV+
Happy Sunday my fellow X3 drivers!
Wondering if anyone has done the GFB Diverter valve and PURE inlet on stock turbo for n55. Looking to get a little more spool and some cool woosh woosh noises. I've seen the GFB DV on other N55 cars and it seems like a 1 hour mod. I think the inlet would require some custom work, guys who have done it please tell me the tricks of the trade! Thanks in advance! Brian

The pure inlet is next to impossible to install on our cars. The OE inlet which you have to cut is very hard plastic and must be cut very close to the bend. Hardparker got it to work with some type of epoxy or JB weld. I went with the inlet made by AZ-MCRacer over on the F10 side of bimmerpost, but I also had to buy a new clean air pipe since the F10's is slightly different from ours.
If you want to try the Pure inlet, I have the one I tried to use and will be happy to send it over at a reasonable cost. The DV is a quick mod if you have the turbo out of the car. Otherwise you're going to have to drain coolant + remove water pump to get access to all the bolts.

Apparently there is a full pipe version of the PURE inlet that doesnt require cutting, just replaces the entire thing. Not sure if it will fit on our X3's though...

Sadly it will not work.. the F3X intake system routs in front of the engine while ours wraps around the side and goes over the engine.
It seems the only way to get a PURE inlet to fit, option 1 and lots of JB weld are required. Quote:
