Voice control function
Picked up the car the other day and when I press the voice control on the steering wheel nothing seems to happen. Is it a standard feature or an option ? Is it supposed to have an audible indication to let you know its on / activated?
Or is it operator error !! |

Should beep when you press it to indicate it's waiting for your command. If you've put a phone in the cradle just as you started up it sometimes needs 30 seconds to load the phonebook before it'll respond -- shouldn't be that way, but it is on mine.

So it worked when the dealer took you through your new vehicle at delivery and now it's not?

Depends on which Bluetooth/USB option you selected. If you went with 6NK (around £600) then you should have voice control. If you went for the cheaper option (6NH - £265 iirc) then you won't have voice control.
I went for the cheap option as I have voice control in my M3 and it's a complete pain; I almost always give up after a few minutes in frustration and end up using the idrive for the right number to call! Hope this helps and good luck with the new car, looks great.
