2020 X3M40i front ventilated seats - no adjustable bolsters?

I ordered a 2020 X3M40i with front ventilated seats and heard about how they don't come with adjustable bolsters in the 2018 and 2019 model.

Was just wondering if this is also true in the 2020.

Also read about how the ventilated seats have less cushioning as well but have not compared the difference myself.

2020 ventilated seats in X3 do not have adjustable side bolsters. Not sure about padding differences.

I test drove both with & without ventilated and personally I liked the non vent with bolsters, more comfortable & holds you in the seat much better

You really need to compare the differences for yourself. We have them in our 2019 and they are firm and flat vs. the standard or sport seats. We're fine with them but a lot of drivers don't care for them and they are a deal breaker.

I guess that's only on the 40i's because my 2020 x3MC has ventilated seats and adjustable bolsters

Thanks for the feedback. Really seems like the ventilated seats aren't a smart move, but I may be stuck with them. Besides not having adjustable bolsters, is there a significant difference in the comfort or not that big?

Our other car is a 5 Series with the multi-contour seats which are outstanding and the difference in comfort is very noticeable. However, I find the ventilated seats in the X3 to be decent - Kind of like sitting in a firm chair when you have a backache. Sometimes the firmness feels good. I can see how a lot of drivers just do not like them though.

Picked up a 2020 X3 M40i with ventilated seats and can confirm, no adjustable side bolsters. Also, the side bolsters are not very aggressive. That said, I live in AZ and spend lots of time outdoors so getting in to a ventilated seat after sweating is very nice. I would not change a single thing about this car, gun to my head, I'd want larger side bolster though.

So besides the side bolsters being small, the ventilated seats still are pretty comfortable right?

There have been plenty of posts on here saying that they are not as comfortable. Your best best is to try and take an extended test drive to make sure you will like them.

My wife and I thought the ventilated seats sucked from a comfort stand point. Feels like you're sitting on top of the seat instead of in it.

I just ordered a 2022 X3 M40i with ventilated seats and the build sheet says “no passenger side width adjustment” So I’m taking that to mean the driver bolsters in the new model are adjustable. Does that seem like a correct interpretation?

I would not make that assumption. The ventilated seats have never included adjustable side bolster for either the driver or passenger, so I don't think they've suddenly changed the seat. Also, the 2022 Order Guide still states that Ventilated Seats delete 481 - Sports Seats. I think you'll find no Sports Seats = no adjustable bolsters.

for what it's worth my '22 x3 with ventilated seats doesn't have adjustable bolsters for driver or passenger

weve got them, it feels more like you are sitting on them rather than in them. They are still comfortable, the fan makes a slight noise, but in summer its definitely worth it, so i guess it all falls down to where you are and what the climate is.
