Racing Dynamics Catted Downpipes w/ Heat Shield, BMW X3M & X4M 2019+
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Our new Gen2 Racing Dynamics sport catted downpipes with heat shields for BMW X3M (f97) and BMW X4M (f98) 2019 on models. Our Gen2 Downpipes include improvements in flex joint to reduce vibration and allow alignment during installation, O2 sensor bungs for reinstallation of the OE O2 oxygen sensors, and mounting brackets to support the weight. Down-pipes by there very nature reduce restrictions of the catalytic converters allowing your turbos to breath more efficiently. This reduced restriction allows the turbos to spool up more quickly and provide a more aggressive turbo sound. Most downpipes since they no longer have catalysts may generate check engine lights. Our O2 sensors spacer is a possible solution. Features: Large diameter TIG welded 304 stainless steel piping throughout for maximum power. Direct bolt-on replacement for OEM primary catalytic converters. Our heat shield protects surrounding parts, wires and hoses from heat of the downpipes. The integral thermal insulation reduces head radiation and passes the engine heat out the exhaust. Our flex joint is a bellows style with protective screen for long life. There are cheaper flex joins with woven mesh that are prone to failure. Straight-through design allows for maximum power and sound. Less back pressure improves turbo response and improves horsepower and torque significantly. Application List: BMW X3M F97 2019 on BMW X4M F98 2019 on These parts are intended for off road or track use only! This product is sold for off road use only. It is not legal for use on public highways. This product is not for sale or use in California. They are available to our international customers for use within legal limits in their domicile

I'm confused as the description reads as if it's a non-catted dp. If one wants a catted dp, why would they want to deal with o2 spacers to deal with the CEL, unless it's just purely catted for smell reduction?

I have, on more budget-friendly downpipes. I guess I'm just in the school of thought that if you are going to introduce any restriction into a downpipe why not make it count and handle the smell and CEL. Either way, the description reads as if there is no cat(s), which was odd, to me.
