RG Sport - H&R Lowering spring vs MSS Urban spring Review
As most of you knows, I have been using MSS Urban Adjustable Ride System for about a month since it was the first complete set of lowering spring that I received.
Couple weeks ago, after months of waiting, I finally received my stocking order of H&R lowering spring. Thanks to COVID-19 situation, I got bored in the office and I decided to play around with different lowering spring setup. I figure it would be perfect, since I have had a few questions on the differences and what to recommend. Anyway, let's start with the review. H&R Lowering Spring It is advertised to lower 1.2" front and 1" rear. I managed to use it for almost a week, both on regular road and highway. On regular road, ride quality is as good as stock. On the highway, small imperfections and bumps are perfectly fine. But, due to its characteristics, when there is tall hump on the highway, you will feel a faster rebound motion. This characteristics is very common on H&R spring. Currently H&R spring only available for X3M, it will fit on X4M but the rear will sit higher than on X3M. Here are pictures of my X3MC with H&R spring. MSS Urban Adjustable Ride System It is advertised to lower up to 1.5" all around. But after installation and adjusting the ride height 3 different time, the best setup is not to go any lower than 1.25" front and 1.125" rear. Anything lower than this, you will be hitting the bump stop very frequently and your ride will bouncy on uneven road at low speed. They do recommend to keep the stock rake, which is 15mm higher on the rear. For you who is looking for more comfort than stock, this MSS is for you. Also, MSS lowering spring fits on both X3M and X4M. Here are pictures of my X3MC with MSS spring. I hope this review help you guys in making decision. Feel free to add your inputs if you have any of the suspension setup. Because each person tolerance on comfort are not the same. For example, G05 X5 M Sport with Air Suspension is floaty for me, but it is comfort for them. Be safe and stay healthy. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for the comparison! So what offers a softer ride?

MSS is more comfortable. I wouldn't say soft.
Because soft to me is Benz suspension, lol.

Excellent review, Ben! If I understood right, H&R is cheaper and firmer, whereas MSS seems to be the comfy choice.

Any chance you took measurements of the amount of threads showing on the MSS kit? So others, like me hehe, can preset to the height you mentioned!

If they even have it in stock, haha.
Since I made the post, they are out of stock until Mid May. You don't need groupbuy to buy from me. But I do have H&R in stock. Half of it left.
