`Ladies and Gents -

I touched base with AWE about their exhaust for the M340i - asked if it could be adapted for the X3 m40i.

The answer was no. - as they tune the exhaust for the motor AND the chassis... and even if fitted, there is a chance it would drone or have other undesirable characteristics.... BUT.

John Voss @ AWE said that the X3 is on their radar... that if they released anything, it would be later this year at least.... For me, next year would be fine.

Even though I hated that the answer was "no", I loved everything about the "why". It reinforces why I am a HUGE fan of AWE. If you are a realistic potential customer for an AWE catback for the X3 m40i, maybe reach out and let them know. A nudge from a hundred or so potential buyers might not hurt.

If they would consider the X3M and the M40i then I would be ecstatic. I have their systems on 3 cars now, currently my 19 Audi S4 has the AWE non-resonated Touring system on it and I love it.

This is promising news. AWE makes high quality exhausts. They’re about 45 minutes from me.
