How do I refill r134a refrigerant?

My car (BMW X3 2008) was not blowing very cool air. So, I bought the below stuff and tried refilling with the blue hose connecting to the lower valve but the gauge showed 60PSI.
From the chart I have seen, it should not exceed more than 35psi, if the outside temperature is around 23 degrees celsius/ 73 degrees Farenheit. So, I kind of freaked out and stopped refilling immediately. It was right when I started. So, I didn't even fill anything.
1. Is 60PSI ok?
2. How do I refill anyway?
3. Also, I bought this stop leak oil but I dont have any instructions on the can. How do I fill this?

1. 60 psi is definitely not ok. Depending on what high side pressure is it could be a sign of a weak or failing compressor or an overcharge. At this point I would take it into a shop for a proper diagnosis.

2. Don’t refill unless you know you have a low refrigerant charge.

3. PAG oil pictured is not a stop leak. Its function is to mix with refrigerant and act as a lubricant for the internals of the air conditioning system. As a note, please don’t use stop leak. It potentially can clog up your your entire system resulting in even more cost to repair. It can also damage the machine used by the ac technician to evacuate, measure and recharge refrigerant to your car.

I'd have the system evacuated, tested and recharged.

I would also recommend having it looked at by a technician. The A/C system will also blow hot air if it’s overcharged. The system must be within a certain parameter in order to blow cold air . I overcharged my VW once and it didn’t work properly until I evacuated some of the refrigerant.

Along with fresh lubricating oil and clean R-134a, the only other thing that could be at fault is the compressor itself.
