Installed AutoId front lip and VOSSEN HF5 wheels -- X3 M40i

The AutoId front lip is very precise for installation, love it!

And I put VOSSEN HF5 wheels in satin silver; used almost stock sizes to reuse OEM tyres

Love the OEM+ look of my M40i

The wheel color looks great with the color of the car.

Did you just use the screws and the tape to install the splitter? I would recommend also a strong glue, because a friend of mine lost the middle part on the autobahn at 120mph. Nothing happend, but could have gone wrong also...

If memory serves, the Auto ID splitter has at least 10 screws which are closely positioned, with that and the 3M tape, that splitter is never coming off, even at high speeds, trust me I know

Do you think I am writing this for fun?

I wrote this, because it flew off, although it was mounted as it should be.

I saw it first hand.

Oh, sorry, you know it is not possible, than I have to lie of course...

Put your attitude back in the box my friend, I never accused you of anything and simply have my opinion based on my own experience with the splitter!
If yours came off, I’m actually quite surprised at that.

I have the same type and thought it was well designed and secured, I won’t mention the speed I’ve had mine up to but it’s a lot and still rock solid, so for me it’s secure enough!

I also added 3 anchors at the center; final result is very strong

I am not your friend and you have to tell me nothing.

I warned the thread opener about a danger of the splitter and you wrote that that can not happen, but it did. So you are wrong.

Because of guys like you, many people stop at giving advices here.

Thats a good idea, because the center is the weak point.

The original mounting screws are too far behind and not there, where the air pressure kicks in. And therefore the 3m tape is too weak.

I am not mad. I simply don't like it when people deny a fact based only on their opinion.

Adhesion promoter is a must use for any type of 3m tape applications! Especially on front splitters!
