I ordered mine on the 11th, added a few options on the 15th and it was out of production on the 21st. I'm not sure about any shutdown, but I think the reason Midwest_x6 and I had relatively short wait times were our dealers had slots in the production queue that they were able to assign to our cars. You dealer might not have as many slots or they were taken by other orders. -Bruce |

Interesting. I ordered mine on the 12th and he finalized the options on the 16th. He also had a slot in the production that he changed for me.
Oh wells. Did it show up for you guys in the "My BMW" page? Or did the dealer tell you these updates? |

That's good news! What did you order?
I'm hoping to close on ours before the weekend, but we'll see.

Ugh, that's painful!
Just curious, when you call the 1-800 number, what status do they provide? Mine is currently be transported to the port of exit. Does that mean the dealer for US delivery? Thanks, dr |

I picked up my car on Tuesday, which was 14 days from when I ordered the car. In total… ordered on the 11th, added a few options on the 15th, out of production on the 21st, at the dealer on the 24th and picked up on the 25th. What I ordered was: 28i Titanium Silver/Black Interior/Fineline Wave TrimI got the car for about 8% off the $52K MSRP, including the Olympic drive $1000. Unfortunately I was too busy at work the rest of the week to do much more than drive it to and from work. Today was the first day I really got to start figuring things out. This evening I took a few pictures. |

It's beautiful!
I have a 528i loaner with the N20 in it till my X3 arrives....Interesting vehicle for that engine. Not sure it's the way I'd equip it Anyways, enjoy the new car...I'm finding in the 5'er with the N20 I like driving in sport mode most of the time. Can cruise in comfort mode on the highway. Post up a thread after you've had some extended time with it. I'll be curious to get your take. Other thing I noticed right away is how much I absolutely dislike the start/stop...Going to have to do away with that quickly with the TSB. I notice you're in Boston - you going to keep the All Seasons on year round or go winter shoes in the winter?

I’m trying to figure out what function, numbers, addresses or stations are worthy of being a programmable buttons, if they were still making Seinfeld, I’m sure they could have had an episode on this. One think I find kind of weird is the manuals that came with the car are U.S. manuals, yet include features that aren’t available in the U.S. Such as rear fog lights and parked-car ventilation. The manual also mentioned a first aid kit, warning triangle and tool kit. All I have is a tool kit, which consists of just a phillips screwdriver and a tow hook. For this winter I plan to see how things go with the all seasons. -Bruce |
