Just bought my new 2022 X3 with the M Performance package (or whatever package gives you the upgraded body for the xDrive30i) and was rear ended while sitting at a red light.
Not only did this happen in April and I've had a vehicle with a dangling muffler since April 29th, the car is hardly drivable and one SINGLE part is not available currently and potentially won't be until "sometime in June" according to the Certified BMW repair center I'm working with.
The only part they cannot get is the lower rear bumper piece w/trailer hitch. I cannot understand the fact that this doesn't come with an entire bumper assembly but I've learned to quit questioning.
Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on what to do about this? I'm distraught that I can't drive my vehicle and that it might be in the shop for months. I'm to the point now that I'd buy an aftermarket carbon fiber one just to get this done and over with but I can't even find one of thoseā¦

DanG wroteYes, unfortunately they have nothing for the 2022s yet. I've scoured every corner of the internet and I can't even find a parts catalogue for my year/make/model.Have you tried www.getbmwparts.com?

Our F15 M Sport was rear ended and it took the shop 4 month to get all parts, plus one month to fix it.
We bought a G30 instead of paying a rental.

I don't think there's any other options other than wait. The body shop that I've gone to in the past told me they have a 3 month backlog of customers because of parts and supply chain issues.

LOW4LYF wroteYeah, I guess I'm just trying to go thru every option I can to find a quicker fix. Just sucks to spend $50k+ on a vehicle and not be able to drive it.alex2364 wroteYou are correct. I did end up being a Karen and messaging a customer rep at BMW. I just don't get why the bumper comes in 2 separate parts and I can get one and not the other.
