Dinan Sport Problems :(
So I got my Dinan Sport Performance Tuner today. But something isnt right. I'm hoping someone may have an idea of whats going on or can point me in the right direction.
I installed it to the pressure sensor like the instructions say. Turned on the ignition. The red LED light came on. I then used the app to select my engine and calibrate the boost gauge. So then I started the X3, and was immediately greeted by a message saying "Drivetrain Malfunction" with a check engine light. I disconnected the Dinan Sport and just plugged my pressure sensor back in, and everything was back to normal. Any ideas? Its a 2014 F25 N20 |

I wont be able to contact Dinan support until Tuesday. Its the weekend and Monday is a holiday.
I did search a bit and found a 2 year old post regarding my issue, and for that guy, the problem was a defective Dinan Sport unit, which Dinan replaced. I'm really hoping thats all this turns out to be. |

Give dinan the finger, return it, buy BM3 or MHD

Couldn’t be happier with my bm3. Having tried both piggyback and DME flash tunes, I really think DME flash is the way to go for me... especially since it can be unlocked and flashed from the comfort of my garage, with no under the hood work, and can provide finer control over more bits of functionality.

So I wanted to give an update. I was sent a replacement unit, which I received today. I installed it the same way as before, set up the app, and it works perfectly! I took the X3 out for a few drives to test things out and its great! The difference is more noticeable in certain gears/RPM ranges, but its a nice change.
So if anyone orders this thing and gets a Drivetrain Malfunction error, the unit is bad. Only took 4 days to get the new one, once I was able to contact support. |
