X3 E83 / What Head Unit w/ Apple Carplay / Android Auto in 2024
Hi community,
Everything is in the tittle, what aftermarket model would you recommend to fit in a good old X3 E83 in 2024. I have seen a number of them out there, but I am not sure what Android version I should pickup, Ram or budget really. What is reliable and can play Carplay decently, and or a Waze and music on YT/Spotify? Thanks for your feedbacks ! Ronan @ X3 E83 2L 2006 |

I have an XTRONS go to www.xtrons.com they have a fantastic unit that places the screen in the dashboard top storage area, works fantastic, back up camera and dash cam and other options available. Check it out, a specific unit is available for the E83 https://xtrons.com/bmw-x3-e83-androi...om-qxb22x3un-l
There is a UK based website as well www.xtrons.co.uk |

Ah that's great, thank you for the recommendation.
I was looking for a smaller price tag, like 100-200-300. If you have other recommendations guys Also, these XTrons devices are apparently still running Android 10, seems quite out of date, but that's maybe not too much of a problem... Cheers |

If you're looking for something a little cheaper I run this on my 07' X3 I believe it would fit your 06' https://www.ebay.com/itm/364548980493 I use it mainly for Carplay. I installed it in January and haven't had any issues so far. I noticed with this one however its not as simple as plug and play, Theres an ACC wire that needs 5v in order for the head unit to boot up.
