I drove a 991.1 Carrera 2 PDK for a full day test drive and the performance was outstanding, however, it was also a bit soft and too refined for a Porsche. I guess I was comparing it to the 997.1 Carrera 2S I owned at that time. I'm sure the 992 delivers in every way, but my guess is that the base Carrera 2 and Carrera 2S are still a bit refined as they are likely going to be purchased by rich people who want to DD it.

I won't be buying another Porsche unless it's a GT3 (or GT4). Maybe a used 991.2 GT3 in a couple of years after I see what the 992.1 GT3 brings to the table. I don't think I'll give up my M240i 6-speed though. It's too much car and fun for the money. If I don't feel like spending a bunch on a Porsche, the next-gen M2 Competition w/ S58 motor and DCT (praying BMW still offers a DCT in it...) will be a much more cost-effective alternative track weapon to the GT3.
