I heard once from a lawyer that in Canada the judge even help you in identifying what documents you need to provide for your case. A lot of big corporation got beaten up by small claim court. However, it is a small claim, don't expect much.

A while back a person won the case about bad paint against Chrysler in small claim court. However, another person loose similar case in the court of queen's bench, even with the help of lawyers.
