They are designed for the turbo direct injection, timing chain driven vehicles with newer technology like Vanos so the hesitancy from folks to accept some of the newer oils because they don't meet BMW specs is a little baffling to me. For example, LL 14 FE+ requires Base of ACEA A1/B1, HTHS 2.6, KV 7.8 and TBN 9.5

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 is A1/B1 so it at least meets minimum HTHS of 2.6, KV 8.8, and TBN is probably a hair under 9.5 but at less than 10k intervals it's a moot point.

But if we're talking the B58, I'm definitely not putting 0w20 in that.
So i'm in Canada (think very, very cold winters)...

Would these be good options for me? If so, which would you recommend out of these 2 for the 2020 X3 xDrive 30i?
