State laws and insurance companies' practice here on this side of the pond could be different... Also, I recognize it's up to different individual to decide what's the least hassle for them, filing claims and having someone else to fix that, or taking the DIY approach. I've also seen many people decide to do nothing to fix the curb rash since for them, it's the best approach.
