Stock speakers are in fact quite capable- I'd put money into a quality DSP amplifier (example: AudioTech Fischer or similar) before spending money on a set of replacement speakers.
Want solid quality bass reproduction?- one needs a large diameter (10-12") speaker to produce very low frequencies- no 6" or so diameter speaker can reproduce very low bass frequencies.
