Maybe I'm another lucky guy because I never had issues with the wireless charging on my X3. I have used it many times (sometimes for over an hour) with a Galaxy Note 9 and a Galaxy S21 Ultra and never noticed any overheating because of the charging.

Both phones only get warm if I have Waze or Google maps running while charging but that's 100% expected because keeping the screen on for long periods of time + GPS use a LOT of energy and it's normal for phones to get warm.

So either I'm lucky with the wireless charging unit on my car or, maybe, iPhones are not so good with wireless charging (ps: Samsung phones have supported wireless charging for many years, I wouldn't be surprised if it works better on their phones) or folks might be running Apple maps, Google Maps or CarPlay while driving.
