I also wish I knew what to use. Pennzoil, Quaker State,Mobil 1,Valvoline in full synthetic form do not have BMW approvals even though they are approved for VW, Porsche,Audi ,etc. I believe there is a euro Castrol 0w30 that is approved as well as Motul, and Fuchs as well as the dealer brand of course. Ive emailed a couple manufacturers and have had no replies.The Mann filter is fine although I'm quite sure Mahle is the oem supplier. Hengst is another.
