I think I knew I wanted an X3 at this price point - I have an Audi A4 and didn't want a Q5, and also didn't want a Mercedes, Land Rover, etc. The X3 is as nice or nicer than those, and the driving/tech is great. The Audi virtual cockpit is really nice, though.
But those are all the cars that I knew I DIDN'T want. The only other car we seriously considered was the 2019 Ford Edge...which is a little wider than the X3, but I think it's more close to the X3 than an Escape, no?
I've loved what they've done with the Edge over time, and I think the Edge ST looks amazing. They just seem to be dragging their feet on the rollout, with no real information coming out (and nothing really coming out of the forums either - this forum was so much more informative than the Edge forum) that I ultimately decided on the X3 for now.
