okay, I just got off the phone with weathertech. for anyone who cares:
the customer service agent suggested to wait another 6-8 weeks for when they release their new cargo mat for our x3's. I asked about the cargo rail and the floor handle. he said in his notes it looks like two options will be available, one where you can trim to expose the rails and one where trimming is not needed but covers up the rails. he mentioned that the handle for the cargo floor will be covered up by both designs but they are going to put guidance for how/where to trim the floor mat to expose the handle if you want that.
will be waiting for this design to come out.
