Personally, I think BMW is too cheap/incompetent when it comes to web sites/services:
- Connected drive: Earlier this year, it didn't work in the US for a couple of months or more. Canadian users were even more screwed, as it didn't work for them for several months (I think it started working around October for them).
- Google's "Send to car" intermittently works -- a feature that BMW appears to support via the "Remote Services" ConnectedDrive subscription:
Sometimes this works (takes a long time to arrive at the car), but it often fails with a "We couldn't communicate with your automaker" error.
- IFTTT integration used to work, but now doesn't. It appears that BMW has shut this down.
- Now we have this phone-related software update that appears to be ancient and much older than what's currently shipping.
