Another vote for Akebono Euro brake pads. I have them on my X3 and used to run them on a E36 M3 when I had it. No problems with stopping power. Maybe you have to press a little harder than you were initially used to, but you will get used to that too. Of course, when I switched to Akebono pads, I replaced the rotors with Centric Cryo-High Carbon Plain 125 Series Rotors at the same time.
