Likely due to the fact that, I have large hands and there is not much access to that hose. I could get a little grip on the line but she was really on there and it was not a regular vacuum hose, it was so sort of braided line. I will be trying this again but I am currently seeking some advice.

Is it safe to use pliers to remove the vacuum hose?
How would one get the bottom nut on the wastegate arm loosened?
What size hose fits the wastegate actuator fitting?
The wastegate should be completely closed at the BMW recommended pressure of 5.9 In.Hg, is this correct?

Thank you in advance!
Pliers are okay on the hose as long as you don't damage it. I think it's 3mm hose. Yeah, 5.9 in hg to fully and firmly seat the flapper. The nuts on the rod are 10mm.
