For me , driving most of the times 200-300 kms, means using gasoline at 10-12 liters/km most of the time instead of efficient diesel (and clean with adblue) using 7,5 liters/km.
It is a non brainer. X3 30e for me it is just publicity but totally useless. Happy with my 30D.
I had a X5 40e for about 6 months and it was a lovely car when the batteries were helping to power it. Sadly this was only for about 15-19 miles and then it was a 2.0 petrol engine in an X5 with a load of batteries in the boot. It was awful with no electric power. When working together it was lovely.
I just did too many miles (15,000 per year) to make it work really but it was a lovely car and certainly didn't put me off hybrid/electric I just chose the wrong option at the time. Maybe in the future.
That said I have just ordered a M40i so sensible choices aren't what I go for with cars to be fair.
