Where did this info come from? A while ago that was the prediction but then BMW hinted at only around 450-460.

It would make sense if they were able to boost it to 480 just to keep up with competition.

Alfa Stelvio 500hp
Jaguar svr 550hp
Merc AMG 469+hp

All with healthy torque as well

Although I expect the X3 to weigh a little less too based on base weights of all those cars (merc is a hog near 4500 lbs)

X3M rated at 480 by BMW could be closer to 520-525 in dyno testing.
Some ///M Certified Dealers got an email this week with the question if they want to order one of those, they were just told the things i wrote in my other post and not more. Not even the colours.

In that email they also wrote the engine has 2993ccm, the current M4/M3 has 2979ccm, so i think that tis is a hint that the engine is new and not a blown up S55.

I can post again if i got some updates..

PS: 600NM of torque..
600nm a bit disappointing. So that's 442 ft lb

Guess it makes it even with stelvio but way behind Mercedes and Jaguar (516 and 505 torque)

Probably the difference in 6 vs 8 cyl
