Couldn't you have closed the trunk / boot using the switch on the door rather than having to get out ? I've had this issue 3 times but don't have comfort access. For me it appears I must have been inadvertently operating the fob as it stopped happening immediately after buying a key-fob cover and hasn't happened since.
