Just ensure your tap has its own fuse rated to what your device requires (if it doesn't have its own fuse) and that the gauge of the wire up to this fuse can handle 20A. At just a few inches you can go down to a 16 gauge stranded wire and be fine.
I imagine if your tap is rated at 10A there is no inline fuse and it expects you to rely on the fuse you are tapping to protect your tapped circuit.
There are all sorts of tap kits out there, first one I looked at on Amazon just now was a 20A tap.

Looks like the limit might just be a function of which fuses they supplied in the kit. They go up to red (10A). The fuse holder itself has its own rating. If it is an FHA2 per the chart it should be usable with up to a 30A fuse. If you want to be sure you can look for the parts matching the sheet.
