The 2014 and 2015 BMW X3 28i both came equipped with the N20 engine in the USA. The HP rating remained unchanged at 240 bhp for both model years. Perhaps you or your source mistakenly looked at the power rating in kW rather than HP for the 2015 model year which is 179 kW as it is for the 2014 year.
