I think there's a definite difference. I have Michelin Primacy RFTs for the summer and Michelin Ice Edge X non-RFT for my winter only tires. Size is 245/45/19. The snow tires are much quieter and provide a better ride than the summer tires. Can't really tell a difference in handling. When the summer tires are at life's end I'm going to switch to non-RFTs as well.
