do not expect a much louder exhaust, its barely noticeable, a bit in low frequency..

According to newtis.info, the flap actually reduces volume by about 8dB, which isn't quite half the volume, but pretty damned close. 10dB lower would be exactly half the volume.

And yeah, unplugging is just going to make it harder for your turbo to work when the flap should be open. I'd recommend getting a brass fitting so that the vacuum line is always holding the flap open.
