I got an X4 F26 30D 2015 (same engine as in X3) hense why this forum as it has more trafic.
Car just passed 110.000 km - no issues so far.
But today a slight whining (?) sound start to come from engine bay, and when left the car I noted a smell of hot rubber/plastic.
Opened the hood and tried to rev the engine - with higher rpm (around 3000) the whining is louder - car seems to pull all right
Anyone experienced similar with the 30D engine?
Suggestions to what it can be?
Water pump?
Belts?
Turbo?
?
Could it be tranny as in this video? - could sound like this
