Nature of the beast as the combustion is simply not efficient cold when spraying directly into the cylinder. You will have incomplete burn until warmed up. Not really a misfire but it will have some very slight stumbles. Many won't notice it.

I've had 10 direct injections vehicles now...every single one did it...except one which had port and direct injection.
Agreed. I've had this now & then with other bmw's, but not really that noticeable and settles down within a minute or two. That said, I haven't experienced it on my '20 x3mc or at least, haven't noticed it.
