I am also on a similar track as OP. Looking to by CPO X3 or X1 around $25k. Although I can wait longer than OP, until Sept.

I wonder if BMW will provide big incentive to buy those X1s being hold back months behind for sale due to the recall. If so, I might leaned toward X1, otherwise, X3 will be my choice for the wify.

right now the expected recall start is beginning of July, but with the fix still in development. i would expect that to slide though, theres 100K+ X1s that are being recalled, and they need to make sure any replacement part passes testing. then will come the order of priority of who gets the parts.
i suspect due to the just in time nature of the supply chain:

first will be cars in production, then customer cars, then cars for sale on dealer lots.

there's a stop sale on all new X1s right now
