That's the problem over here. I'm either in the first three gears in the city or the top gear on the autostrada where I average 100mph. While the X3 is pretty aerodynamic for an SUV, there's still a significant amount of wind resistance. I suppose that X3 would do better than 15 on the highway but only if I kept it under 65mph. That would put me in the slow lane with all the trucks. That ain't happenin'. I would shock the hell out of Audi A6s with that M40i. They're used to being one of the faster autostrada cruisers commonly seen in Italy flashing their lights expecting everyone to yield to them. Imagine their shock when they got stomped by a little 3 series suv. I just hope my fuel economy doesn't go down to something ridiculous like 12 now. That would take some getting used to, but rest assured I wouldn't slow down to compensate!
