My dad is doing this. If Toyota axes the 5.7 he's going to buy one more and drive it once the wheels fall off his current 2015 (currently at 185k miles).
Personally, I'm into the new truck. I'm bored of the current generation, which is already a facelifted 2nd gen. This isn't the greatest looking truck, but if you look at what else is out there, it's all kind of the same. Blocky macho squared off designs with ridiculous headlights. At least with this new truck, it won't be terribly outclassed by the competition anymore for a little while. It doesn't even need to be a pack leader, just competent and good enough, and it's definitely looking like it will be.
