Rubber Mats are thicker, flexible and less of a spill wall. (More premium.)
Liners. thinner more rigid (hard) more of a spill wall.

i ordered the weathertech liners for the x3 m40i and they fit fine. they are thinner and definatley more rigid than standard winter "mats" but they do ride up higher to contain all the nasty muck that we track into our cars from the outside when it snows.
getting our first snow today in the NY Metro area so we'll see how they do when i get home.
